Conscious Clothing and Gear. Who will benefit?
Recipients include but are not limited to not for profit organizations that host orphaned youth, single parents without support systems, and the elderly. In addition we have become interested in working with animal intake and rescue organizations.
Where will this take place?
Efforts have started in the United States. One goal is to expand into other regions while working individually and/ or collectively with other organizations.
How will we contribute?
Resources include financial contributions from sales revenue, charitable donations, spirit and fundraising events and Iyawear product donations.
Why do we care?
It is a responsibility and honor to care for those who are unable to care for themselves and to support those who want to care for their own but are unable to do so. It is a matter of mercy which is something we all need and we all need to give.
When will this happen?
Efforts are made as we are able. As Iyawear® continues to grow so will Fashion for Freedom.
Our Mission & Vision
Mission
Using fashion as a means of providing support to inspire and enable freedom; spiritual, emotional, mental, physical, and financial freedom.
Vision
To establish a strong foundation that can be built upon through time to assist and make way for those in need.
Can't stop Jah works! Overcome the devils with a thing called Love.
2011 Iyawear/ Fashion for Freedom recipient:
Thanks to everyone who purchased Iyawear items in 2011. Together we were able to make a donation to the Jenny Vaughn Bates Memorial Trust. On September 18, 2010, Jenny was the primary victim of domestic violence. Her husband then took his own life leaving their two sons without either parent.
On this day, January 7, 2012, the Ethiopian Orthodox Christmas, their is no Christmas tree, no gifts, and no Santa Clause. We send prayers out for parents and children. That those parents who are living act as such and not exist in the minds of their own flesh and blood as thought they were deceased. That those children who are not able to experience their own parent or parents will feel their love. And that those children who have parents who do not know how to respectfully treat and love them in the ways God intended, know Jah love, for He is the ultimate and unconditional Father and the Mother to us all. Jehovah-jireh: The lord who provides. Selah.
The following is from her obituary:
[Jenny] was a community services therapist and worked as an employment specialist for Prince William County Support Services.
Jenny was active in the Virginia Rehabilitation Counselor's Association, supported Mental Health Awareness Services activities, and served on the Internal Diversity Committee of PWCSS. She was devoted to raising funds locally for Mothers Against Drunk Drivers.
At the center of Jenny's life were her two sons...They were her heart and soul, and her goal in life was to enrich their world.
